Failed expectations
Lost opportunities
Childhood traumas
Suffocating feeling of being stuck
The belly of the beast is no stranger
When you grow up with it,
And in it
Unpredictable parents,
One's greatest nightmare
Trading on thin ice
Emotional landmines
On step amiss, BOOM!
It goes off
Hurting not only her
But ones she cares about
Sheds a piece
Embodies another,
A Foreign layer
Layer after layer
A birth
A quiet girl
An obedient one
A timid girl
With broken self esteem
And a shattered self-belief
Thrones on her skin
Keeping away the ones
Who are visiting
For she was afraid
Afraid,
Her words would fight
To have its job done
And the feelings
Would wage a war
To find its meanings
For if a landmine goes off
There's no coming back
And a throne ends up
As a good friend
But the flowers
Her greatest enemy
Fairy tales,
An overwhelming yet
Comforting lie
For she ain't a princess
Nor did she need a prince
She looks in the mirror
Stares hard, for who she sees
Is far from Who she really is
The one,
Who was buried deep enough
To never resurface again
Overtime
There was a beam of light
At the end of the tunnel
But the empire
She ever built
With all her remaining strength
And bits of her soul
Crumbled down
Burnt into flames
Leaving a huge hole
A void
Never to see light
Ever again.
